Groundbreaking Anti-Poaching Initiative in Namibia

A new Namibian company, Artemis Alert, has launched an international collaboration with Dutch technology partner Hack the Planet and local IoT company Sigmotec to combat the devastating impact of poaching on Namibia’s food security.

This one-of-a-kind technology, co-developed with local farmers, is designed to detect illegal intruders and poachers on farms and wildlife reserves in real time. The solution can operate completely independently, but it is meant to complement and strengthen existing security measures rather than replace them. Unlike anything currently available, it provides a unique, cutting-edge layer of protection tailored to the challenges faced by Namibian farmers and conservationists.

To ensure the safety of Namibia’s farmers and wildlife, Artemis Alert is not disclosing operational details publicly but welcomes inquiries from those interested in supporting the initiative. The project is committed to protecting wildlife, safeguarding food security, and creating local employment opportunities—all vital for the future of Namibia’s natural heritage.
