Artemis Alert, in collaboration with Dutch technology partner Hack the Planet and local IoT company Sigmotec, is proud to announce the successful completion of the pilot phase of their innovative anti-poaching system in the Kalkfeld area of Namibia. This cutting-edge technology, co-developed with local farmers, is now operational 24/7 and actively utilized by the pioneering farmer in the region.
Strategically placed sensors have been installed in areas known for poaching activities, enabling real-time detection of unauthorized intrusions on the farm. Recently, the system identified individuals on the property who, upon investigation, were found to be unarmed trespassers taking an illegal shortcut through the private land. While these individuals posed no immediate threat, this incident underscores the system’s effectiveness in monitoring and alerting to any unauthorized entries.
The successful deployment in Kalkfeld not only enhances the security of local farms and wildlife reserves but also contributes to safeguarding Namibia’s food security and natural heritage. Artemis Alert remains committed to refining this technology and expanding its reach to support more farmers and conservationists in their efforts against poaching.
